Re: the small brass stampings -- a possibility

In a situation I was involved with, a company was cleaning motor
windings to remove lights oils and the like. These had extremely
tight spacings where water with its surface tension has a tough time
getting into, surfactants notwithstanding. In order to eliminate
the Freon cleaning, which worked so well, the company ended up going
with a high flashpoint hydrocarbon solvent (an Amoco product) similar
to mineral spirits in a modified degreaser with ultra-sonics. This
worked well, but had to change the processing a bit to allow for
longer drying time.
