Edwin,
Maybe I'm missing something (please let me know if I am), but many of the old
two step solder strippers could only remove the tin lead in the first step w/
a nitric based stripper, and you had to use a ferric based chemistry to
remove the intermatalic. Are you not familiar with 2 step strippers, or am I
just not understanding the question?
