Gold flash is anywhere from like 5-10 microinches thick whereas a gold
plate is thicker than that. A flash can be obtained by plating, or
with electroless gold or immersion gold. But it all depends on your
application. Your application determines what you will do; namely,
requirments for thickness, purity, porosity, color, hardness, etc. So
are you wire bonding, soldering, connecting...? All kinds of specs
out there, perhaps others can let you know what specs to look at...
