Dear "Compliance Netters":
I recently met with a representative of a coalition that is working to get the U.S.EPA to change the toxic characteristic for silver to zero. They have gathered much evidence that proves that silver is not as toxic as the original TC assumed.
Would such a regulatory modification benefit our industry? I am interested in learning whether the silver waste/by-product that is produced by the electronic interconnection industry (e.g., through the imaging or plating process steps) is currently excluded by RCRA's Subtitle C through one of its exclusions (e.g., commercial by-product) or whether it is treated as hazardous waste.
