Finally -- some good new from U.S. EPA for the industry!

Yesterday, the U.S. EPA publicly agreed to commit $400,000 to develop a national printed wiring board compliance assistance and pollution prevention center that will be primarily available via the Internet.

The Center will be modeled on the National Metal Finshers Assistance Center that is currently up and running on the Web. The PWB Center will provide a centralized database where users, such as include industry people, federal and state agencies, and academics, will be able to access regulatory and pollution prevention information specifically tailored for the PWB industry.

Most noteworthy for the PWB industry, the Center plans to have data regarding federal compliance requirements and pollution prevention tips that will help small and medium PWB shops manage their environmental compliance burdens in a cost effective manner.

If you would like a copy of the funding proposal for the Center, please e-mail me at [log in to unmask]
