The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has extended the reporting deadling for Toxic Release Inventory Form Rs for the second time. The new deadline is now September 8, 1997. Form Rs are usually due by July 1st but due to EPA revisions to Form R and delay getting the new version of Form R out to states, companies requested additional time to comply and the EPA agreed to an August 1st compliance date. Now, EPA has agreed to extend the date again -- mainly because of problems with the electronic version of Form R. The September 8th deadline has been chosen so that facilities that choose to electronically report their TRI data will not have difficulties with the software.
