The IPC/EPA Design for the Environment (DFE) Making Holes Conductive (MHC)
Project is presenting results of the MHC Cleaner Technologies Substitutes
Assessment (CTSA) in a series of free seminars across the country this year.
As part of the DFE MHC project, the performance of seven MHC technologies
was tested in real PWB facilities. These seven technologies were as follows:
* traditional electroless * non-formaldehyde electroless
* carbon * graphite
* palladium * conductive polymer
* conductive ink
These technologies were evaluated in the DFE MHC CTSA for health and
environmental risks, technical performance, costs, and implementation.
The results will be presented in a series of free seminars sponsored by
IPC, the EPA, and various regional circuit associations.
The dates and locations for these seminars are as follows:
May 15 Best Western Serville Bloomington, MN
May 21 Best Western Midway Elk Grove Village, IL
September 10 Radisson Hotel Chelmsford, MA
October 6 Hyatt Crystal City Arlington, VA
November 13 Best Western Airport Phoenix, AZ
Ten DFE PWB project documents will be provided to all seminar attendees,
including five pollution prevention case studies and a paper on
implementing MHC technologies.
