The EMPF is a member of this task force along with TI, Allied,
Ford, Delco, Hughes, Honeywell, Lucent Technologies, MICOM, Seho,
and Contamination Studies Labs to name a few. The project is
still in its infancy with plans to publish results by the end of
1997. Preliminary tests focused on the comparison of no conformal
coating to parylene in a few specific environments. Surface
Insulation Resistance was used as the descriminating factor; follow
up will be performed with functional hardware.
