Rolled solder is another name for roller tinning. This surface finish
applied to bare boards is a coating of tin-lead, tyically 1-2 microns
thick. Still available today from some PCB fabricators today, it is a low
cost surface finish (cheaper than HASL) typically used on 1-layer PCBs,
sometimes 2-layer PCBs.
See Chapter 15 Solder Finishes in "Th Multilayer Printed Circuit Board
Handbook, ed. J.A. Scarlett, Electrochemical Publications Limited, 1985,
for more detail and history of the process.
