RE: Etching chrome. As an unspecific recollection, I believe that a
KOH + Potassium Permanganate solution will strip Chrome from Copper.
I am not certain of concentrations and temperatures. Note that this
will create environmental concerns on the spent etch solution and
rinses.

Can anyone tell me what etchant will dissolve chrome but not copper?
I'm thinking about using cold dilute sulfuric acid but I'm not sure what is
used commercially anymore.
