Solder will oxidize as it sits exposed to air. I heard someone give a talk
about a non-destructive test that can be done called SERA (Sequential
Electrochemical Reduction of oxides Analysis). This can be used to determine
solderability. His name was Peter Brattin with ECI. Address is
