The H.S. codes are harmonized tariff schedule codes. For bare boards,
they are as follows:

8534.00.00 All Printed Circuits

"plastics impregnated, not flexible type: having a base w2holly of
impregnated glass:"

- with 3 or more layers of conducting materials (8534.00.00.20) (this
would be multilayer)

- other (8534.00.00.40) (this would be single and double)

"having a base wholly of impregnated paper" (8534.00.00.50) (all paper)

"other" (8534.00.00.70) (IPC has been working to determine what this is)

Other:

- flexible type (8534.00.00.80) (all flex)
- other (8534.00.00.90) (IPC is focusing on this category since it
accounts for $960 million of $1.8 billion in imports in 1995. We're
more than a little puzzled, because if it doesn't fit in the above, $1
billion of activity seems impossible. If anyone has any insights,
please contact me directly!)
