The resins used in the manufacture of flame retardant printed wiring boards
contain tetrabromo bisphenol-A (TBPA). They do not contain polybrominated
diphenylethers. A study recently completed by Bayer AG (Central Analytical
Department) analyzed the detectable amounts of PBDD and PBDF in flame
retardant plastics containing TBPA. Their study revealed that TBPA, it's
derivatives and the plastics flame retarded with TBPA do not contain
significant amounts of PBDD and PBDF.
