Laminates made under vacuum and with good control of resin viscosity should not
suffer from
edge tapering. If there is any tapering of such laminates, it should be taken
care of by the normal trimming
which removes about 25mm per side. One other factor is the interleaving medium
used between
laminates during pressing; if this is uneven due to surface re-grinding, then
the laminate thickness will
mirror accordingly. The requirement is to control/minimise resin flow and this
does not depend on
how many laminates are pressed per book; in fact a high stack can contribute to
reduced resin flow by slowing down the heat rise (thereby minimising the flow).
