ADDENDUM
9-June-1995 Meeting Minutes - Atlanta Designers Council

> Laura Morris had a comment on Computer Vision software. Their company
>has some ten years of design data on CV. With the CV software maintenance
>no longer current, they have experienced a "License Date Bomb" which
>disabled their existing purchased software. Laura explained that Conklin
>Industries has switched their CAD format to P-CAD but wish to maintain the
>previous designs on the software it was originally designed on. CV has been

>made aware of their dilemma and has offered to remove the "License Date
>Bomb" for a substantial fee. DC members agreed that tactics like this
seemed
>unfair and if a company elects to discontinue maintenance on a software
>product they have purchased, there should never be an expiration date on
the
>revision they left off with. Members were advised to inquire about this
>little known device which may be built into the design and/or autorouting
>software they currently own or are considering purchasing.

This issue has been resolved between ComputerVision and Conklin
Industries to both parties' satisfaction. This discussion was not intended
to cause any hard feelings toward ComputerVision, but to find out what
experience other designers had with their EDA software.

Thank You,
Ben Davis
President, Atlanta Designers Council
