Is there any statistical data on the long term reliability of tabs plated
at less than the standard of 30 microinches? There have been requests for
30 micro" average from some shops, but no reliability data to back up the
requests. I have even seen SIMMs with flash gold surface-not for us, but
used to try to sell us on flash gold tabs for type I boards. Is this used
anywhere for SIMMs?

What are the concerns with thinner gold? ..Ni migration and oxidation?
I have heard there are some guys building Ni coated tabs without gold. Is
this elemental Ni?

Any information would be appreciated.
