CAUTION: Email originated from outside of Cubic.
I can't speak for the J-std or A-610 specs, but the Class 3A requirements in the IPC-6012 spec did change with the release of the "Space Addendum".
IPC-6012C had a section for Class 3/A requirements - this was dropped in the 6012D release and those requirements now appear to be contained in 6012DS (Space addendum).
The "A" in Class 3/A most definitely does not refer to the A/B/C producibility levels outlined in the IPC-222x design series!

Subject: [TN] IPC class 3A?
Good Morning folks,
I have a question that was posed to me recently. I vaguely recall that there used to be a class 3A for aerospace, probably for the J-std-001 and perhaps IPC-A-610. After a bit of searching, I'm not finding anything on class 3A. So I'm wondering, has that been superseded by the Space Addendum?
I had one person indicate they believe the "A" stood for the Producibility level, but I hadn't hear that before and don't believe that there is a direct colleration. I hope I'm not mistaking.
Thank you for any assistance in clarification that you may be able to provide.
Best,
