Good morning Nigel,
Somehow, I have become our company's sanitizer expert, largely because I do
the testing for the effects of residues. So I have been doing SIR testing
on sanitizers in uncleaned form, to represent what would happen if it got
onto an active assembly; on samples that have been rinsed with 50/50
IPA/water; and some test boards that have been rubbed around on a surface
cleaned with the sanitizer to see if anything transfers. So far, I like
the sanitizers that don't have chlorine as an activator, like the
alcohol/peroxide blends. Some chlorinated sanitizers, evan at low
concentration I have found to be corrosive. I have a lot more testing to
do and am considering writing all this up for one of the upcoming
conferences.
