Hi Peter - I am looking to measure the alpha emission of the solder paste
as delivered by the supplier. With the industry change over to Pbfree
soldering processes, there has been a renewed interest in alpha emission
phenomena - everything from the die fabrication using Boron 10 to solder
paste to the use of Xray inspection. My focus is finding anyone who has a
test protocol for measuring the alpha emission of the solder paste as I had
a customer ask the question and am now looking to see if I can provide a
valid response. The answer may be that no one is testing solder paste for
alpha emissions.
