Is the rubber material ESD-safe, and can it stand up to repeated washings without turning into rubber FOD?

Peter,

Just a note of caution.  You may also want to have a soft rubber material (compatible with your process) to go inside the stainless steel baskets.

If you don't you can expect component damage as the assemblies bounce around.
