Just wanted to make an observation on a comment Lee mentioned below. He said " We have trialled many times with our coatings and if you find you have a dodgy connection first time of fitting, the second time it connects." And that's fine by itself. An issue I have with that being a former Technician is that if you were to power up a device that might have a "dodgy" connection and not know it, you could cause an issue with perhaps a power/ground pin that connects after signals and cause a latch up or other damage to a circuit. I'm not saying that it will happen, but do you want to take a chance that it could? I would not like that done on an aerospace board or other high reliability board. Just an observation, nothing more. ;-/

Hi Ed

No company will guarantee you can coat all components without problems.

That said the coating is typically less than a micron and 99% of the time it will be fine.

We have trialled many times with our coatings and if you find you have a dodgy connection first time of fitting, the second time it connects.

It's really going back to understanding what you are protecting against?

This will tell you of the fluoropolymer coatings are suitable for you.

Btw there are water based low cost versions of these very expensive materials now available. So if you're interested we can chat off line.

Best Regards

Dr Lee Hitchens
