The Question:
This element was known to the ancients and can be traced back to 3000
BC. Coins
that contain this element include two-euro coins, 50¢ U.S. coins, and £2 UK
coins. The element is used in the following commercial applications: stainless
steel, nonferrous alloys, electroplating, alloy steel and batteries. Nearly
12% of this element's global use can be found in electronics. This element
may be an essential nutrient for bacteria residing in our large
intestines! What
element is being described?

The Answer:
The element is Nickel (Ni)! Bronzes from what is now Syria have been found
to contain as much as 2% nickel and ancient Chinese manuscripts mention
"white copper" which was a cupronickel alloy. In the United States, the
term "nickel" or "nick" originally applied to the copper-nickel Flying
Eagle cent, which replaced copper with 12% nickel in 1857–58. The nickel-alloy
in 5p and 10p UK coins was replaced with nickel-plated steel began in 2012,
causing allergy problems for some people and public controversy. Nickel is
an essential element in our electronic assemblies.

- The weather here is pretty nice, so the guys can assist with generating
the Quality reports for September for a day or so, and then perform some
outside work around the house. I'll try to take it easy on 'em!

Week 75 Mordechai Kirshenbaum
- They missed the connection and had to wait 8 hours at Heathrow. This is
their third visit to Israel. This time they are going to work hard. At
least the weather is fine.

Week 76 Tom Carroll, Boeing
- Clumpy and Kloumpios couldn't come at a better time, they will be helping
with storm clean up and putting up Halloween decorations. Make sure they
bring the big John Deere tractor to haul the debris to the curb for pick up
by our local sanitation crews. If they are really good, I'll send them back
with extra treats for all who get to attend the IPC meetings.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. Have fun and a few drinks for
me.

Week 76 Eray Canli, ANDAR Electromechanical Systems
- assisted with ????

I hope everyone has a awesome week!
