It was planned, to give Dave a much-needed week off to go kayaking. Although Dave most certainly deserves it, we all know Doug could not have come up with the correct answer exactly 10 seconds after the question was posted, thus an investigation is beholden. Many of the Technet members have protested this obvious collusion. I have already asked Special Counsel Robert Mueller to investigate this and his response was that indictments will be going out today.

Subject: [TN] Element Quiz Answer

 The Question:

This element is the 5th most abundant in the earth's crust but is never found as a free element. This element is essential for human life.

Compounds of this element were well known to the Egyptians, Romans and as early as 7000 BC. The largest commercial use of this element is in making steel and it can be used to store hydrogen gas. The Cardiff Giant hoax is related to this element. What element is being described?

The Answer:

The element is Calcium (Ca)! Calcium compounds were well known and used by many ancient cultures - from the plaster in the tomb of Tutankhamen to the Romans making lime mortars created by heating limestone. Calcium derives its name from the Latin word calx meaning "lime". Calcium compounds are used to remove oxides and sulfides during the steel making process. Calcium can be used to store hydrogen gas, as it reacts with hydrogen to form solid calcium hydride, from which the hydrogen can easily be re-extracted. The Cardiff Giant was cut from a block of gypsum from Fort Dodge, Iowa, shipped to New York and "discovered" while digging a well.

- While I am on leave, guys can spend whole week trying to tidy my desktop...hope they can finish before I'm back!

Week 68 James Head

- It appears that Clumpy and Kloumpios brought the rain with them after we've had several weeks of dry and hot weather. I've been keeping them busy all week with some Orcad layout work with a brief excursion to take my two year old daughter to Mini Professors to learn about friction whilst constructing a hover craft out of an old CD, balloon and the top of a washing up liquid bottle. I caught them trying to violate the second law of thermodynamics but managed to stop them in time before they could give Louise bad ideas.

Week 69 Mordechai Kirshenbaum

- but I don't want the brothers to travel so far away (they already had been in Israel several months ago)...so they get the week off!

Week 70 Doug Pauls, Rockwell Collins

- assisted with ????

I hope everyone has a awesome week!
