Thanks Doug,

That's something that hadn't occurred to me, I was worrying about degrading
the carrier tape/cover film tape so much that it would have problems in the
pick and place machine. So now I'm wondering what the alternative is for
parts that have exceed their floor life while on a reel? Strip them off the
tape, bake them, then re-reel them again? That would be great if we had a
tape and reel machine.

So, based on what Doug says, if you get things hot enough to diffuse the
moisture out of the parts, you are likely doing nasty things to the plastic
carriers to cause them to outgas/offgas stuff out on the parts.
