Blue, Orange, Green, Brown, Slate.... Yep... didn't do the same, but worked in it for many years... :-) It was always interesting to see the look on a backhoe operators face when they pull up the colored roots, kind of messy "eh"? And, NO, I'm not from there but I did some work there also...

Later...

LOL. I did live in Canada for 3 years when I was 19,20,21. Worked for Canada Telephone as a lineman, traveling all over the country, coast to coast, repairing phone lines. Lived up northeast of Flin Flon on a Cree Indian reservation. Best three years of my life; I never should have come home.

Joey,

You probably don’t want to hear this, but… the answer is “it depends”. How marginal is marginal? What is the lead finish? Are the pad connected to a ground plane? What is your reflow profile?

Bev

Subject: [TN] Flux question

Is ROL0 flux an adequate one when faced with having to solder marginally oxidized components. Or should a different flux type be selected. Application is ground based/hi-rel (non flight). Flowdown is J-001 (not space addendum). Thanks….
