Here is the Element Quiz Answer:

The Question:
This element is not found in its pure state in nature yet its the third
most abundant element found in the Earth's crust. The largest piece of this
element (2.8kg) ever cast at that time, is part of the Washington
Monument. The statue of Anteros in Piccadilly Circus, London. This element
has thousands of commercial applications. Which element is being described?

The Answer:
The element is Aluminum (Al). In the Earth's crust, aluminium is the most
abundant (8.3% by mass) metallic element and the third most abundant of all
elements (after oxygen and silicon). The pyramid capstone on the Washington
Monument is an aluminum casting and the statue of Anteros is one of the
first statues ever cast from aluminum. Aluminum is used everywhere in our
lives today.

The winner of the quiz is Steve Herring, Pennatronics Corp, and he will get
the services of Clumpy and Kloumpios for the week.

The EQAB reviewed Doug's submission of Statuium and has disqualified his
response (yes, I know everyone is shocked). There is only one element that
has been shown to have a +9 oxidation state and that is Iridium. A team
led by Mingfei Zhou at Fudan University in China have successfully formed
the [IrO4]+ cation in the gas phase using pulsed-laser vaporization in
2014. A review of the literature shows no other documented +9 oxidation
cases. Additionally, the Washington Monument capstone is well documented as
aluminum and not statuium. And finally the Cabo de Hornos Administration
commune authorities had no record of the existence of a former land bridge
per a request by the EQAB (they actually asked EQAB to repeat the request
twice).

So far Clumpy and Kloumpios have done the following:

Week 54 Leland Woodall
- We recently bought some new 3D AOI equipment, and the guys are assisting
me with the disposition of questionable calls made by our associates. I
should have known they were well-versed in IPC-A-610 acceptability
criteria. They hadn't made me aware of this in the past, and then told me
it was because I'd never asked... Shame on me, right?

Week 55 Tom Carroll, Boeing
- Clumpy and Kloumpios will arrive just in time to help with some spring
cleaning outside. Can't wait for this winter to be gone. You are probably
dealing with Winter Storm Xanto right now, good luck with that. I hope it
misses New York City as it moves east. Please have them bring the tiller
attachment for their John Deere so they can easily turn the soil in the
front flower bed. After the boys get done with the yard work they can relax
on the deck with some nice IPA and go fishing in the canal out back. I know
they enjoyed that last time they visited.

Week 56 Mordechai Kirshenbaum
- I picked the boys from Ben Gurion Airport after a 24 hr delay. I shall
let them to overcome the Jet Lag, but tomorrow they are going to work hard
at my labs. I hope they will enjoy their stay

Week 57 Steve Herring, Pennatronics Corp
- assisted with ????

I hope everyone has a awesome week!
