Hi Dave

I picked the boys from Ben Gurion Airport after a 24 hr delay.
I shall let them to overcome the Jet Lag, but tomorrow they are going
to work hard at my labs.

I hope they will enjoy their stay

Mordechai

 Subject: [TN] Element Quiz Answer

Here is the Element Quiz Answer:

 The Question:
This element is the rarest of all
elements on Earth (less than one ounce
exists on Earth at any given time).
Less than one gram has ever been
produced in a laboratory so the
chemical and physical properties have not
been determined to any great extent.
 This element filled the second-to-last
gap in the Periodic Table. A whole host
of folks claimed to have discovered
 this element from 1931-1940. This
 element has potential medical
 applications but its rarity has
inhibited its application. Which element is
 being described?

 The Answer:
The element is Astatine (As)! Astatine
derives its name from the Greek word
 "astatos" which means "unstable".
Astatine comes from the radioactive decay
of uranium ore and its longest isotope
half life is 8 hours so there isn't
much of the element to be found on the
 planet. Mendeleev predicted that
astatine existed when he created the
 Periodic Table and named it
"eka-iodine". A whole gaggle of folks
 "declared" they had discovered
 astatine. The first claimed discovery
of eka-iodine was made by Fred
Allison and his associates at the
 Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn
 University) in 1931. The discoverers
 named element 85 "alabamine", and
assigned it the symbol Ab. Official
discovery credit was assigned to the
team of Corson, MacKenzie, and Emilio
Segrè who isolated the element at the
 University of California, Berkeley in
1940.  Astatine-211 is the subject of
 ongoing research in nuclear medicine.
It must be used quickly as it decays
with a half-life of 7.2 hours; this is
 long enough to permit multistep
 labeling strategies.

The winner of the quiz is Mordechai
Kirshenbaum and he will get the
services of Clumpy and Kloumpios for

 -  We recently bought some new 3D
AOI equipment, and the guys are assisting
me with the disposition of questionable
calls made by our associates.  I
should have known they were well-versed
 in IPC-A-610 acceptability
 criteria.  They hadn't made me
aware of this in the past, and then told me
it was because I'd never asked...
     Shame on me, right?

 Week 55  Tom Carroll, Boeing
 - Clumpy and Kloumpios will arrive just
in time to help with some spring
cleaning outside. Can't wait for this
winter to be gone. You are probably
dealing with Winter Storm Xanto right
now, good luck with that. I hope it
misses New York City as it moves east.
Please have them bring the tiller
attachment for their John Deere so they
can easily turn the soil in the
front flower bed. After the boys get
done with the yard work they can relax
on the deck with some nice IPA and go
fishing in the canal out back. I know
they enjoyed that last time they
 visited.

 Week 56  Mordechai Kirshenbaum
 - assisted with ????

I hope everyone has a awesome week!
