Hi Ioan-

Your problem is that optical systems, particularly inexpensive ones, have
extremely small depth of field if they have enough magnification to see 1
mil bond wires. Typically, a 200X optical microscope will have a depth of
field of under 6 microns. You might get by with 100X, but then it starts
getting difficult to see the bond wires clearly.

As already suggested, the exception to this is Keyence, but they are
definitely not cheap!

What about sending the part out in order to get your pictures? Many
universities have SEMs available which provide beautiful, dimensionally
accurate images. I don't know if anybody has a Keyence system where they
will provide images for hire, but that's also a possibility.
