We use right-angle headers with exposed leads, so it's a little bit confusing when a newbie like me reads articles that tell me I can coat my exposed connector leads to mitigate tin whisker growth and allow closer spacing with higher voltages, but then find out that the people actually doing the work advise against it, or recommend more complicated procedures to inhibit the liquid from spreading.
