Never use your ECAD tool to check your Gerber output. I've seen the
occasional error in Gerber outputs and the cause has sometimes an error in
the ECAD output and sometimes in the Gerber import.
I'm currently looking at changing to viewmate, dfmnow or gerbv.
For many years, since 1996 I suspect, I've used GC Prevue but I have to say
I was a little disappointed in the manner they've started charging for the
product from the start of the year, seemingly out of the blue with no prior
warning. They have user's email addresses but didn't send any news out
ahead of time, and to begin with they were still advertising the free
version on the website but only had the purchase buttons. The last version
I downloaded in December last year has stopped working at the start of this
year with no error message. I've been told that it's down to a recent
Windows security update.
I've gone back to using a slightly older version of gcprevue for now.
Regards,
James
