From my not a supper vast list of flex designs, I would go with "B" just for the reliability side of things. You didn't mention if this is a dynamic or static flex and that will also make a big difference in your answer, but for me, I'm with "B".

I sure hope there are some flex folks out there today.
I need to know which would likely be cheaper in large quantities:

A: 2 layer with 2 mil wide traces
B: 3 layer with 4 mil wide traces

I guess the big question is what kind of premium should be expected when asking to etch to 2 mils Any and all help is appreciated.
