Here is the Element Quiz Answer:

The Question:
This element is a metal and can be drawn into fine wires. It is almost
chemically inert at room temperatures. The name of this element has roots
in Greek mythology relating to a son of Zeus. Which element is being
described?

The Answer:
The element is tantalum (Ta). It has a melting point of 2996 C. It is often
used as a substitute for platinum for dental and surgical instruments due
to its inertness. Tantalum pentoxide (Ta2O5) is a dielectric and used in
the construction of tantalum capacitors. When mixed with high quality glass,
it provides a high index of refraction, ideal for many types of lenses.

The winner of the quiz is Louis Hart and he will get the services of
Clumpy and Kloumpios for the week.

Just a note, the Quiz clues will be a bit more fuzzy this time around as
this is the 3rd time for the Quiz and I don't want to make it too easy
(which means Doug has way too much opportunity for new half fractional
elements).

So far Clumpy and Kloumpios have done the following:

Past Quiz winners/tasks:
Week 1 Ravinder Ajmani, Western Digital
-assisted with ???

Week 1 Ron Feyereisen, SigmaTron Intl.
-The boys can set a course through the wormhole to Elk Grove Village,
Illinois. (aptly named since elk live in a forest preserve grove near
here). They can give us a hand with our continuous improvement projects and
hourly coffee making/testing.

Week 2 Louis Hart, ???
-assisted with ???

Everyone have a great weekend!
