You are looking for 6.2.1. Solder Application: Solder shall only be applied to one side of a PTH...



So it doesn't technically matter what side you add heat and solder to per the standard. I would question if your component has any heat sensitivity requirements.

Thank you. The way I interpreted that was that you could have through hole components on the secondary side, but you still couldn't apply solder on the same side as the component I am soldering.



I've attached a sketch showing what I mean. Is this interpretation wrong?
