When baking 1-2577 be real careful: If it is cured too quickly (depends on thickness) then it will trap lots of solvent bubbles.

Dean,

We use Dow Corning 1-2577 as our approved silicone and it has always worked well for us. It is about 20-30% toluene, so it is a VOC, but if memory serves, there are low VOC versions of 1-2577 out there. While it does have a relatively quick tack time, you may want to bake it a while to drive the cure reaction and improve adhesion.

Isn't that stuff about half toluene?

Really--I love 1-2577 too, but won't it cause all of the "VOCs" alarms in the county to go off at once?

90% of our customers (DOD & commercial) call out Dow 1-2577. A good all around SR that is extremely easy to apply, t/u, rework and has a very quick "dry" time of a mere 20 minutes @ room temp. Others are MG Chemicals and Humiseal.
