Hi Joyce,

Well I took my Dremel and diamond wheel and dove in. I guess you could say
it was like taking a ax into brain surgery 😀. This was the first time I've
ever done this so I didn't know where I should be cutting. But I guess I
got lucky and didn't destroy too much, you can see pretty much everything
afterwards. Here's a photo:

All I could see was the coil, the contacts, and the welded wires. I didn't
see a diode. You are right, it is pretty robust looking and looks like you
would have to really mangle the leads during prepping to hurt this. I'm
going to try open another one up tomorrow now that I know where I should
cut and get some better photos.
