  Long, long ago, in a state not really THAT far away, they made the harness boards with the nails as mentioned and instead of wrapping the wires around the nail at the end, they used a spring partially stretched and pressed the wire in the coil of the spring so you didn't get that nail pig tail on the end of the wire. Sure you need to trim them most of the time anyway, but it was easier to make them end about the same so less was cut. I think they did the nail thing on the harness boards I saw at another place I worked, but there were about 25 4x8 boards on that line. They were for 747 cabin lighting systems. Yeah, they were a bit longer than the slot machine cabinets... :-) Happy 4th to everyone, (in the US at least) those of you outside the US can still have a happy 4th, it just might be a normal Monday for ya though...  ;-)
