Also known as solder "stringing".
It is typically seen when the flux is inadequate.

Effectively the same condition.

Solder webbing is typically caused by poor process control while using wave soldering process which can leave solder webbing residue on the soldered PCB.

Evening Tech netters,

In IPC-A-610 (5.2.7.3) the heading stated Soldering Anomalies - Excess Solder - Solder Webbing / Splashes. For the life of me, I cannot recall what is the difference between Webbing and Splashes. I tried to find in Googles but no help there.. What they gave me is the description of the webbing material liked velco tape and different patterns of splashes.

It may sound silly with the questions that I asked but appreciate someone out there will explained to me. THANKS in advance.

Regards,
Ong Seet Leng
