Yeah. The specifications don't say anything about using 2 parts of elephant dung mixed with 1 part of Coca-Cola as a flux, but that doesn't mean it is Ok to do so. Why not mount a brick in the middle of the circuit board to act as a heat sink?

The answer is no spec.
Look at 7.1.8 and as long as it meets the contract requirements or company requirements it's acceptable.
