A little more information on the issue. Two source vendor connector, one is acceptable and the other isn't, encroachment onto SMT ceramic resistor. The concern is edge card connector is tilted, IPC-A_610 section 8.1.2. the edge connector could impact resistor integrity, solder joint, latent filed failure. Not sure how connector is placed onto the card, auto or hand, for soldering. If auto, ceramic resistor could receive impact during auto placement. Just trying to be proactive.....

What's the defect?
If there's no defect then it's acceptable. That doesn't mean it won't cause a problem, and if the design allows a condition that is undesired, then the requirements that go beyond what is defined in specification need to be added to the drawing.

Ahhhh... why would someone think that was acceptable? Sorry, just my opinion.

Anymore input to my inquiry. Plastic housing connector edge/tab sitting/resting on top of two SMT ceramic resistors.

Victor,
The answer is no spec.
Look at 7.1.8 and as long as it meets the contract requirements or company requirements it's acceptable.
