Here is the Element Quiz Answer:

The Question:
This element has 4 allotropes and is a good conductor of heat. It is the
9th most abundant element in the sun. This element was known to the
ancients. Human beings need 10-18 milligrams of this element daily.
This element is the heaviest element that is produced by the sun's hydrogen
fusion process. Which element is being described?

Bonus Question:
Provide the Latin name for this element.

The Answer:
The element is Iron (Fe). Iron is the 4th most abundant element in the
earth's crust. In the Sun, the hydrogen nuclei can be "squeezed" to form
elements with atomic numbers below Cobalt. Iron is a critical element to
humans as hemoglobin transports oxygen to cells. No one person is given
credit for the discovery of iron - the element was "discovered" at least by
3000 BCE.

Bonus Question:
The Latin name for iron is "ferrum" which explains why the Periodic
Table symbol is Fe rather than Ir.

The winners of the quiz are Tom Carroll and Robert Welch as their answers
had the same exact Firewall time stamp! David Bealer was the first to
submit the correct bonus question response. They will have to work out the
boys schedules but they all will get the services of Clumpy and Kloumpios
for the week.

So far Clumpy and Kloumpios have done the following:

Week 100 Denny Fritz, SAIC
-Early this week, they will be working as editors/proofreaders for the
Technology and Supply Chain Roadmaps we are working up for Department of
Defense. Any chance either has a security clearance? If so, we may give
them a peak at the "Trusted Source" program we are working for circuit
board design, fabrication and assembly. All this is under the DoD
Executive Agent for Printed Circuits and Electronic Interconnects at Crane
Navy Base. Later in the week, we will get them a tour of some of the
biggest and best deposits of calcium in the US - the structural limestone
mines just south of Crane here in Indiana. Can you say - Pentagon or
Empire State Building? And, with freeze warning on Sunday AM, and falling
leaves - I can put their John Deere to work at home this weekend.

Week 101 Mark Kostinovsky, Schlumberger
-I usually try to give the guys some rest but not this time. They will be
helping me with cleaning up the mess that Patricia's tail (Houston received
9.38 in (238 mm) of rain during a 24-hour span from October 24–25) created
in my little back yard. Nothing serious though. So we should be done in a
few hours and then they can relax for the rest of the day
