Liquidus +40C? for SAC305 that would be like 260?
Way too cool for a soldering pencil, and kind of hot for a peak reflow.
IMHO

Thanks for your information.

I was told that the soldering temperature should be Liquidus temperature plus 40 degree, is this defined in IPC?

Best regards

Hello RonJun,

Please take a look at the IPC 7711 & 7721 procedure.
The start temp is always 315 and this should be changed if necessary depending on your PCB etc.

Met vriendelijke groet, Kind regards, Mit freundlichen Grüβen,

Hi Technetters

Is there an IPC specification regarding the temperature setting of hand soldering?

Best Regards
