OK, maybe this works fine, why not?
I had in earlier days long before lead-free a solder paste from
Alphametals (something with ... 390... RMA) which could be left open
for days. I made prototypes with this paste down to 0.65mm pitch. One
day dispensing or screen printing, next day manual pick and place,
next day reflow soldering, and yes, cleaning was mandatory, but the
results were perfect. And this paste was even fine 1 year after
expiration date and after 1/2 year out of the fridge... just stir
well and fine.... no black magic, but, maybe a bit harder to achieve
nowadays with lead-free.

Matthias
