"More sophisticated CAD systems can auto-place the teardrops, and that helps with the error checking when done. But I haven't seen a CAD system that inherently supports teardrops. By this I mean that when teardrops get placed, they do it by adding extra traces or pads, which it is then up to you to manage when you start doing the inevitable revisions."

Not sure I quite follow what you mean here, but I think going by what you say that Pulsonix has support for automatic tear dropping.

Tear Drops are always DRC checked, both in the on-line as you edit DRC checking and the end of the board layout DRC check.
You can tear-drop individual nets or the entire board and once the teardrop is on the board it is "dynamic" in that although it's been added as a triangular polygon, if you edit the track or via by moving it then the tear-drop automatically changes. Further, if Pulsonix can't automatically add a teardrop to a pad/trace because of Design Rule violations then you can nudge the pad or track yourself and once it's okay then the teardrop appears automatically.
