Mr Pauls follows the same method as we do. We apply Parylene as a service
and if adhesion testing is requested by the customer, the D3359 is usually
the spec called for unless they generate their own. We have purchased a
specific test kit with the proper size blades just for this. The only
caution is that the substrate you use as a test coupon must be the exact
same substrate material of what you want the parylene to have max adhesion.
In other words, if you are coating a CCA, don't use a glass slide as a
coupon. All you are doing is testing parylene adhesion to glass, not solder
joints or device leads. Parylene will adhere to each differently.
