Why should all that old information be irrelevant?  Electrons still move like they did in 1968, the laws of physics don't get revised often.....

I have found a unique way to preserve my drafting past.  As part of my kitchen remodeling, I am refitting my grandfather's old flat file cabinet for use as an island.  He had passed it on to my father, I used for a while.  (I suppose I could use one of the drawers to store a USB stick containing 1000's of documents).  It was full of old architectural drawings, surveys, templates, pencils and pens, tools....   As the kitchen is Craftsman style,  we can design around it.  Found a couple of old round drafting style stools.  We're framing some of the nicer drawings to hang on the wall.  The drawing brush will be hung off the side for crumb removal.  A few old cards of data and formula tables and standard steel sections have been laminated as placemats and coasters.  Some of the tools are already being used to decorate.  More will stay in a drawer waiting for a second life to be discovered.  My wife sees it as a cool decorating idea.  I see it as something much more.

I still have his and my drafting tables in the basement.  Thinking.......
