Since TechNet is a bit slow, I would like to use the chance to give
an update for my job search status after I left BlackBerry Bev's
wonderful lab. I have signed off an offer on contract as a research
associate at U of Waterloo, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering
Dept, starting 2015. My research topic will be advance material
joining, such as laser welding, etc. It will be a labrat work to get
my hands dirty and utilize my material science and metallurgy
background. I am consider myself very lucky to have a chance to join
the team that is well established and well equipped in the this
country. I want to thanks all the technet chaps that helped me,
encourage me in the last 6 month. Your friendship really made
difference in the dark time.
I'll keep monitoring the TechNet, just try to learn a thing or two
from all the gurus. However, I do have a lot of ground to cover on
my new job. Need a lot of catch up to do (re-fresh my heat
treatment, ttt diagram, metal processing after 25 years in electronic
industry, is a lot. plus all the new composite materials in the
field...etc.etc.). Thanks again, my friend. I wish you all the best
for the new year! (cheers to a better year!).
