Agree. This will defuse the solder "bump" leveling on the fiducial marks for machine recognition or used fused tin surface finish.

Increase diameter to 1,5mm (round) with a 3mm solder mask opening and you will have no problem with HASL, a solder wick will only add to your problems in my opinion.

you might want to explore to add a color LED for illumination.  try a battery powered one and see if it gets better (angle illumination).
