Is the PTH being populated with a component? If so, and it is on the opposite side of the board as the smt part, you may get bridging
During T-hole (wave) soldering. Unless the part is hand soldered or selective soldered.

Is there any concern when the SMT copper pads on side 2 of a PWB are too, too close the PTH annular ring, besides solder thieving? Can the PTH knee interface be compromised?
