Unfortunately, what you saw was the "Stunt" Bison from the movie "Dances With Wolves". Since there is no sequel being planned at this time, they had to seek gainful employment elsewhere.

Wow, this went a long way from my amazement at the amount of corn I saw on my drive around the country!

Lest we dwell on human ecological disasters, be heartened by our ability to correct a mistake, as evidenced by the large herds of Bison I also saw.  Everywhere!  Must be all the corn they're eating!
