Hi folks - Here is the Element Quiz Answer:

The Question:
This element's name is Latin in origin. This element will "cry" when bent
rapidly. Sheets of this element are inserted into nuclear reactors to help
control the fission reaction by absorbing neutrons. What element is being
described?

The Answer:
The element is Indium (In)! Indium and Tin are two elements which make
an audible "cry" when rapidly deformed. Indium also can "wet" glass which
makes it an excellent mirror surface that is better than mercury mirrors.
Indium's name is derived from the Latin word "indicum" which means "indigo".

The winner of the weekly element quiz is Carl Van Wormer, Cipher
Engineering LLC, and he will get the services of Clumpy and Kloumpios for

- Picked the boys up at RDU today and had them working on yard stuff
around the house. They really enjoyed working on my John Deere tire
replacement that I put down last week. Tomorrow we'll hit the plant
and they can assist with metrology chores like cross sections, CMM
measurements, and the occasional SEM analysis.

Week 54 Phil Bavaro, L-3 Com.
-Once the boys get here, I think our Sea World Tower needs some
modifications before the 4th of July fireworks start.

Week 55 Leland Woodall, CSTech Inc. deferred to Richard Stadem, GD.
- I understand that Dean is up to his ears in Quality Engineers that he
only sees yearly and desperately needs some help. That being said, I'm
going to do what any Quality Engineer worth his salt would do and donate
the guys' services to him for the week.

Week 56 Carl Van Wormer, Cipher Engineering LLC
